Our story
A family business in Hyderabad, founded in 1986.
Ayyub Ali Fragrances is a family owned business in Hyderabad. Mohammed Osman Ali founded it in 1986.
His four sons run it now. Each one looks after a different part of the business, and all four are working towards the same thing.
Our first label was Bakhoor Mumtaz. It carried the house into the Asian incense range and became the name people knew us by. The Oriental bakhoor that followed found its audience straight away. Regional customers kept coming back for it, and that is how we earned our reputation as a bakhoor house.
The business is larger now than it was in 1986, and the range is wider. What has not changed is who runs it. Elegance, quality and a fine mastery of blending are what the name has stood for over four decades, and they are still what we are judged on.

Looking after a fragrance
Keep bottles and attars out of direct sun and away from a bathroom windowsill. Heat and light are what turn a good fragrance sour, not age.
Attars thicken slightly in cold weather. Warm the vial in your hand for a minute and it flows normally again.
We recommend a patch test on the inner arm before wearing any new fragrance, particularly if you have sensitive skin.
