Choosing an agarbatti

Sandal (chandan) is calm and woody, the most popular scent for prayer and meditation. Rose and mogra are fresh and floral. Kewda is sweet and traditional. Amber and Arabian blends are warmer and richer, closer to the scent of bakhoor.

How to use incense sticks safely

Light the tip, let the flame catch for a few seconds, then blow it out so the stick smoulders. Stand it in an incense holder over a heat-proof dish to catch the ash, in a ventilated room, away from curtains and out of reach of children.
