How to Apply Attar So It Lasts All Day

Apply attar in one or two small dabs to pulse points (the wrists, the sides of the neck and behind the ears) on clean, slightly moisturised skin, and do not rub it in. For even longer wear, touch a little onto your collar or a scarf, where attar can last for days.

Step by step

Start after a shower, when skin is clean. If your skin is dry, use an unscented moisturiser first, as oil holds better on hydrated skin. Touch the applicator to the wrist and the side of the neck. Let it settle on its own; rubbing warms and breaks down the top notes faster.

How much to use

Attar is concentrated, so less is more. One or two dabs is enough for most scents. Oud and heavy amber attars need even less.

Care for your attar

Keep bottles closed, upright and away from sunlight and heat. Stored well, attar keeps for years, and many oud and sandal attars grow smoother with age.

Questions people ask

Does attar stain clothes?

Some darker attars, especially oud and amber, can leave a mark on light fabric. Test on a hidden spot, or apply to skin rather than white clothes.
